August 9-13: After the Road Trip, Exploring Pittsburgh

After moving Matthew in, we took some time to explore the city and see some of the sights!

One of the first things we did was to go to Target in Pittsburgh.  We were so amazed when we saw that you had to put your cart on a conveyer belt to get it from one story to the next as seen in this video.

About to enter the Fort Pitt Tunnel. It was so long!

The Carnegie Natural History Museum has a dinosaur exhibit and they promote it
by putting dinosaur statues around town

The tunnel to Matthew's lower right leads to his apartment

Big Jim's was featured on the show, "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and it really did have great food!

Once we were done touring the city, we walked around Carnegie Mellon's campus as seen in these photos.

The main building that Matthew will be doing most of his graduate research in. Also, scenes from the movie Batman were shot in front of these pillars.

Matthew is a tiny human! Or maybe the pillars are just really big!

The school was built with Scottish influence. Perfect for a Scottish boy!

To end the trip, I think these next two pictures can apply to all of our family and friends! Thank you so much for all your support! It means the world to us!
